For almost 10 years, Saffire’s range of immersive experiences have encouraged guests to connect with Tasmania’s natural environment. Now, we are thrilled to launch a brand new experience, which is perhaps our most immersive yet: The Saffire Beekeeping Experience.We’ll fit you with a full-body apiarist suit, before you venture into a nearby private apiary, with six hives overlooking the iconic Hazards mountain range. Under the safety and guidance of Saffire Horticulturalist, Rob ‘The Bee Man’ Barker, you will peer inside the hives to witness the breathtaking natural phenomenon of thousands of bees, going about the business of honey-making.
Extract warm, fresh honeycomb and learn about how this honey ends up in Saffire’s kitchen and on your plate. Such immersion in nature is as exciting as it is fascinating; bees are the cornerstone of our ecosystem and without them our world would be a very different place. Experience the wonder of Tasmanian nature at its most raw, captivating and sweet. Available exclusively to Saffire guests, every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
